• AIESEC - Madison - The International Association of Students in Economics & Business Management runs the International Traineeship Exchange Programme (ITEP), which places students in short-term work abroad (and is not limited to business students)
• Internship Resources on the Web (Colorado College) is a list organized by type of internship that includes international internships
• Excite.com's Internship links are less specifically geared to the interests of international relations majors, but the list is long
• SUNY Buffalo maintains a list of internships, including a category for international internships
• Best Bets for Internships Abroad is maintained by the University of California at Irvine
• The Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. has unpaid internships and, for those with a bachelor's degree, paid one-year research assistant positions.
• CDS arranges work experiences in Germany, Switzerland, and Singapore. They are the sponsors of the Bundestag youth exchange program
• Drake University has a list of international internships
• International Cooperative Education is another organization that arranges internships abroad for students

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

• The Morgridge Center for Public Service is a campus clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities. Volunteer opportunities include both semester-long and short term activities.
• ICD (the Institute for International Cooperation & Development) trains volunteers to participate in development work in Africa, India, and Latin America
• About.com has a list of links for international volunteer opportunities
• Best Bets for Volunteering Abroad is maintained by the University of California at Irvine
• The International Study and Travel Center at the University of Minnesota has a searchable database of overseas work, internship and volunteer opportunities in developing countries and Eastern Europe
