IS Major Funding Opportunities

Newman Family Scholarship: 

Female students with Junior standing (at least 54 cumulative credits) who have declared the International Studies Major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and who have maintained a GPA of 3.3 or higher in the major, are eligible to apply for the award. A faculty selection committee will choose one or more recipients based on eligibility and the excellence of the proposals. See attached form for application instructions.

IS Major Student Travel and Research Award:
The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for undergraduate students attending international or national conferences and/or participating in undergraduate research activities related to international studies. Award funds can be used to cover expenses related to conference travel, registration, and meals associated with the professional activity.  This award can also be used to support an undergraduate research project that is carried out under the supervision of an IS Major faculty member employed by UW-Madison.
