Brian Cahalane is the Consul General of Ireland in Chicago. Brian Cahalane was appointed Consul General to the Midwestern United States in September 2024. He is delighted to be working and living in Chicago, the first U.S. city he visited, even before he joined the Foreign Service. From his base in Chicago – a city with such a strong Irish heritage – Brian along with the Consulate team is working to promote Ireland and Irish interests in the region and to further strengthen the links between Ireland and the Midwest.

This event offers a unique opportunity for students to gain insight into Irish diplomatic perspectives and engage with current global issues.
