Academic Advisors
Molly Donnellan, Academic Advisor. Pronouns: She/Her/Hers: Molly advises for the International Studies Major. During the semesters, students should attend an Intro to the IS Major Workshop before scheduling their first appointment with Molly. Outside of Fall/Spring semesters, students can schedule an appointment directly via email. Students can also email molly.donnellan@wisc.edu with questions. Students can schedule an appointment via Starfish. Molly speaks French. Her favorite places she has traveled to are Cairngorms National Park in Scotland, the west of Ireland, and southern France. Molly enjoys knitting, etymology, crosswords, and claims to have an acute mastery for keeping house plants alive. Molly’s love language is thoughtful gift-giving.
Csanád Siklós, PhD., Academic Advisor: Pronounced Csanád Siklós. Csanád advises for the International Studies Major. Students can also email Csanád at siklos@wisc.edu with questions. Schedule an appointment with Csanád via email or via Starfish. Csanád speaks Hungarian, Norwegian, and German. His favorite places that he has traveled to are Budapest, the High Tatras, and Corfu. Csanád claims to have no hobbies; but he is a lineage member of the old Hungarian aristocracy, so maybe he won’t tell us for security reasons. His love language is cooking and making sure that none of his loved ones go home hungry.
Lindsey Bliefernicht, M.S. : Pronounced Lindsey Bliefernicht (she/her/hers). Lindsey advises for the International Studies Major, as well as regional studies certificate programs within the Institute for Regional and International Studies. Students can schedule an appointment via Starfish. Lindsey speaks Spanish. Her favorite places that she has traveled to are Amritsar (India), Meteora (Greece), and Chefchaouen (Morocco). Lindsey enjoys thrifting antique glass (ask her about her glass hand!) and watching movies, particularly of the Bollywood genre. Lindsey loves Oxford commas and errs on the side of comma overuse. Her love language is sharing memes and film recommendations.
International Studies Undergraduate Peer Advisors
Amelia Catacutan, IS Global Security B.A.; Education Studies; Asian American Studies, Cert.: (she/her/hers) Amelia advises for International Studies. Students can email ascatacutan@wisc.edu with questions and can schedule an appointment via Calendly. She speaks Spanish and is learning Filipino. Her favorite places that she has traveled to are the Amalfi Coast in Italy and her parents’ hometowns in the Philippines. Amelia is a critically-acclaimed thrifter and owns enough clothes for a mid-size family: but that won’t stop her from thrifting more. She has perfect pitch and likes to annoy all of her other musician friends who wish they had perfect pitch. Her love language is sarcasm, irony, and incredibly dry, deadpan humor to the point where you can’t tell if she’s poking fun at you or if she really does hate you.
Kelly Zhang, IS Global Economy B.A.; Economics; Education Policy Studies, Cert.: (she/her/hers) Kelly advises for International Studies. Students can email xzhang2435@wisc.edu with questions. Kelly speaks Mandarin. Her favorite places that she has traveled to are Tibet, China, and Vatican City. She likes to travel the world through her kitchen, hike, and she is a stress cleaner. As the photo suggests, Kelly does like apples, although yellow dragonfruit takes her number one spot. Her love language is cleaning, except for doing dishes.
Advising is essential to a successful undergraduate experience. We recommend that you meet with your advisor at least once per semester to track progress towards your degree, explore study abroad options, and begin the career exploration process.
Just have a quick question? Feel free to email the IS Major advisor or one of the peer advisors. The email should come from your wisc.edu email account (why?) and include your Campus ID number. If it is an ongoing email conversation, please include the history.
Prior to sending your email, please check our website for answers to frequently asked questions. If it is determined that your question cannot be answered via email you may be asked to make an appointment.
